Something a Little Different!

I just thought I would share my "Cheatin Cobbler". This is something we make when camping or sometimes just for a sweet treat. It's disgustingly simple and is Yummy! OK, here goes...bear with me-I'm doing this from my phone!

One box of any kind of cake mix-I like lemon. Two large cans of peach slices or peach halves. (9"x13" baking dish)... Peaches in first, liquid and all....it needs moisture! Sprinkle/dump dry cake mix over the top of your peaches/juice. Use a fork to sort of whisk the cake mix into the upper layer of liquid in your baking dish. Leave some of the mix dry. Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream/cream/milk....doesn't matter, it's all yummy! Don't burn your mouth!

Miscellaneous Manis-the Good & the Bad!

Well, I got a bit behind on things again-lots of forest fires in our state/nearby states and the smoky air seems to be taking its toll on my energy...Blegh!

So I will barrage you with some of my recent Yuks and Yays...
First is bad...very bad, but I couldn't put my finger on any one thing---it was everything, hahahaa!

Started out great, Loving this cool neutral! Should have left "well enough" alone...

OK, Bad move...stamping sucked and then I wanted to try out a new polish of mine over this stamping...just yuk! It stayed on for a full day-that was all I could take of this combo!

OK, Next one...Operator Error, not the polish's fault. Lovely Contrary Polish, Purple Smoke. STUNNING polish, actually...

Lovely shimmers, Grurple came to mind, because it is grey, blue and purple all at once, but my application sucked and I rushed things-bubbles from too thick of coats. I will try 3 very thin coats next time-this was 2 thick layers. Even though my application stunk, I didn't want to remove this one...lovely...

Girly Bits Cu Blue-O MY this makes me literally drool...I'm not a fan of Jellies, but this color  talked to me (screamed, actually) so I bought it. copper sparkles peek out of a yummy deep blue. This is 2 coats and I really could care less that I have VNL. On my accent finernail is Finger Paints Fall of Surprises and was was too intense/dense, but I had not tried this one before, so maybe I am forgiven?
This pic below was the best I have taken in a long time..in the car, after work, hahahah! Are you drooling?
I bought Girly Bits Cu Blue and Contrary Polish Purple Smoke from Llarowe.
This next one was fun...but a pain to remove...but sooo fun and pretty!
2 coats of NYC french mani white, 1 coats of Pretty & Polished Sand Art, 3 (yes, 3!) coats of SV....
You might not be able to tell....I am still playing around with my next, new polish(accent finger)--testing and trying to decide if I need to tweak it before I make enough to bottle and sell...
(Can you see the shimmer on my accent/ring finger?)

Let me know what you think of these- I love some of the indies and I love trying my own brand and comparing them to what is out there...There are some very talented people out there making polish right now, but do your research, a friend of mine has had some bad experiences with indies-not many, but some....
*hugs* take care all-enjoy your weather and clean air if you have it!!

New LeaLac Stamping plate

I broke down and bought one of LeahAnn Larowe's new stamping plates from her site, shopllarowe. I got stamping plate A-XL and finally received them and tried the stamps out right away!

So thrilled with these! The images are huge and that allows a person to put stamps on the nail a bit differently for each nail, which I have found hard to do with other stamping plates.

Here we go...

Base is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet 2 coats. Stamped with Konad stamping polish in green. Such a clean gorgeous combo, I thought, but I wanted to try out a new polish I am working on :0)

I was extremely pleased with the final look. The polish I used as a layering polish is a gold/green duochrome with scattered, sparse gold holographic particles...very fine glitter, basically. It really doesn't change the color of the polish under it....just adds some glamour. What do you think? I am considering adding this one to my etsy site to sell.

Fall is in the air here...no frost yet during the night, but it is getting down around 45F at night. We lost one of our cats recently...he just never came home-we suspect someone is poisoning cats in our neighborhood and he was not a roamer. I still miss him. A lot. So many changes recently, and he was a steadfast little friend. Goliath actually adopted us. We rescued him when he had been abandoned in a rental home-the previous owners had locked him and his little buddy, Dove inside the house and then just left. They managed to get out, and it took my daughter 2 weeks to catch him. Once he was in the house and we were getting him healthy, he bonded to my husband and I like nobody's business. I nursed him through a bad respiratory illness and couldn't take him to the Humane Society for adoption...so we kept him and he kept us. Fifteen pounds of tough, lovey fur. We miss you Goliath.
Whoa...not sure where that came from...Didn't mean to impose that downer-sorry everyone.

Blued and Tattooed

I have a phrase I use that describes when something really bad happens (engine blows on your car when you are in the middle of Nowhere) might be an old phrase (probably is) but it goes like this, "...I am screwed, blued and tattooed" So that is where this post title comes from-weird, I know, but that is just me!

No bad news for me or my family-just describes these manis :0)
If you can guess, I finally figured out the tattoo stuff and basically, I have given up on making my own fingernail decals unless I can find a better product to print on.

Here we go-
2 coats of NYC french mani white, and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella-gorgeous!

SC Cinderella over white makes my heart happy....it is just the effect it has on me!

The only place I found tattoos at WalMart was in the "party" supplies aisle and these were in a pack for party favors, wow! There were 4 different sheets of designs in the package and I was pretty happy to finally try this. SO easy!  I didn't do it like some of the tutorials I have seen, I just very carefully cut out the ones I wanted, laid the paper design-side down on my dry nail and dabbed them carefully with a damp rag. They slid right onto my nail-Like Butter! SV over the top and GO!

AND, on to another blue mani...

New polish I found the same time I found the tattoos, Maybelline Color Show-Denims it must be part of a "Denims Collection" because it had a separate color on top-I just can't remember at the mo.

I really loved this color/polish but it dried almost too quickly. One coat almost did the trick. Accent finger done in Pure Ice Jaguar and stamped (yes, I did!) with the same blue polish that is on on the other fingers. YAY for finding a new stamping polish! That little glass fleck effect in MCS Denims did not hamper the stamping at all....

Quite a few compliments on this second mani, including some from guys.
I really do get a kick out of it when guys like my nails-and when they are confident enough to comment on them. I take that as a high compliment, even though hubby thinks guys are flirting when this happens, hahahaha!
