Not so subtle Pink mani (pic heavy)

My Bundle Monster plates came on Friday and I couldn't wait to play with these! My daughter got her nails done first, though, so here is a tiny sample of her nails

I finally got to my own nails today, and I was torn! SO many choices...so few nails lol, Finally decided to do a sponged mani because I have wanted to try this for a LONG time. But then I stamped over the top! Best of all worlds, imo.

I used OPI's I Think in Pink, Orly's Softest White, and Revlon's Ruby Ribbon (accidentally called this Ruby Slipper in a previous post, woops), and BM plate 221 stamped with Konad special silver polish.

I used 3 coats of the OPI ITIP as a base, the I sponged diagonal with Ruby Ribbon and a little bit here and there with the white. I used the konad special sparkly silver on the top, and that is the only thing subtle about this! The colors are bright and I love how this came out, even though the silver stamping is hard to see. Topped with SV.

I am NOT a pink girlie-girl,but I am still loving this mani...would be a good one for October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Brown Slate mani

I had no idea what to put on the other night...so I winged it, after getting a great idea from my friend Saundie. Turned out pretty darn nice, I thought, but I do need to practice free handing the flowers more...
I started out with only 1 thick, careful coat of Essie's Little Brown Dress. I didn't want to put 3 coats on since I knew I wanted to layer...
Then I layered a mini from OPI that was sort of a frosty white, but really...has lots of flashes of other colors.

The flowers were made with a plain white from OPI (mini un-named bottle) and some tiny gold balls.....reeeaaaallllly tiny! I blinked and ten were on the table, I blinked again and another ten were out, little escapees!
If you click on the pictures, you can see all the colors in the frosty stuff. I got this and 3 other minis in an OPI 4th of July promo pack a few years ago. Red, white, blue and this frosty little amazing color.
I really liked this look...what do ya think?

Comments on Blogger...

Is anyone else having problems making comments on their favorite blog? I have tried like, oh, TEN times to enter a contest on http://fripperydigits.blogspot.com/ , but it keeps redirecting me to sign in...which I have done, oh...another ten times. At first I thought it was my computer and rebooted it. OK, I give up for the night, must be the weather?!
Have a grand evening and here are 2 little pictures to mull over...

Spring in Montana, Aspen trees are my favorite, but the rivers are all flooding. We went here this weekend to let the dogs run and splash, but it was tough to find a spot on the river that wasn't too fast/unsafe.

Burgundy and Silver mani

My first instinct would have been to call this the Montana Grizzlies mani...Just our University football team colors :0)

I started out with Revlon Ruby Slippers Matte Suede...which is very pretty before topcoat, see?
You can see the pretty silver bits, but it just blossoms after I put on some SV...

I used Revlon Silver Dollar, some scotch tape and scrap booking scissors for some fun and voila!

In this picture, you might be able to see the little flashes of blue and silver in the Ruby Slipper.
um...ignore my cuticles...I work all day with paper and not only does it dry them out, but I rest my pen on my middle finger and that seems to do that one in totally...

A little flashy for me but Oh so pretty. I like the little stripey of silver on my ring finger...but I need to do it differently next time and sandwich the silver between two pieces of tape, instead of putting another piece of tape over the silver (ugh, it pulled up)

Gardening and nails do NOT mix!

One tiny little bit of pulling weeds (1-handed still) and my hands are just horrendously dry...must figure out a good, quick method of getting the moisture back. I normally have very dry hands since I am a bit of a red head, but after yesterday, my skin felt pulled tight over my hands and wrists...ugh!

Green and Silver Starburst

I went to Walgreens and found some sale polishes and of course...a beautiful Sinful Colors called Last Chance...like hunter green and to die for! Gloppy formula, though, so I added quite a few drops of polish thinner. Even so...I would keep this color it is so pretty.
Ignore the messies, please!
This is pretty true to color

Since I wanted to do something special...but I didn't want to draw away from the beautiful green shade...I only did an accent nail on each hand.
Revlon Silver Dollar metallic...OMG...I love metallics! and this one goes on lovely and dense ( I can't wait to try and stamp with this one!)

With 2 coats of fast dry SV
Gorgeous color, yes?!

Issues with blogger/comments

Sounds like I am not the only one with blogger comment issues! I have tried leaving comments on other nail blogs and no dice...what the heck?  At any rate, feel free to e-mail me...I love seeing comments and getting new ideas.  HAPPY FRIDAY 13th! It has always been a stellar day for me :0)

Flakies Galore

So I couldn't handle the green sparkly mess....it was wearing at the tips and just driving me batty. So I slapped something easy on this afternoon. Pure Ice-Scandal 2 coats, and 1 coat of Nubar 2010 flakies...I sooo love the flakies.

Yes, I messed around briefly with dabbing some Konad Special polish in gold on my ring finger...but stopped while I was ahead and before it was too noticeable!

Happy Mother's Day

I am very lucky, and thankful. I have 4 wonderful and rowdy adult kids that love to tease me and joke about my coffee addiction. I love them to pieces and wouldn't trade mine for tame ones any day of the year.(Someone better remind me I said that next time we eat out...)

I have a wonderful hippy-ish Mom, who is 70, and listens to an eclectic selection of music ranging from heavy metal to easy listening (Gordon Lightfoot). She speaks 3 languages and I am convinced she knows how to cuss in all 3! My mom raised 5 wild and woolly kids and She rocks! Here's to EVERY Amazing Mom out there, especially MINE!!

Glitter OD

So I broke down and bought several glitters from Sally Beauty Supply, and finally took the time to play tonight. I should have kept it simple, but ah well...live and learn!
I started with SH's Mint Sorbet, which it a very dense polish, in terms of color.
This is 2 coats, with no top coat...SHINY!
Next I applied some generic clear top coat that was a regular dry time, and went with a silver/holo glitter and sprinkled a bit of sunshine yellow glitter on also (should have stopped at the yellow!)
Again...I should have stopped here. I don't think the
camera caught the yellow, but it was soooo  pretty!
So here is the finished mess on my left hand...
TOO much dark green LOL...although now it is growing on me!
and the right hand...so different, but my left arm is still so limited, it does its own thing!
What do you think? Color overkill?, do you like one look better?

Limelight mani

Couldn't think of a better name for this one, but I am loving the look. I just got some Sally Hansen Chrome Green in a pen. I wasn't impressed by the pale pink I bought but the chromes ROCK!!

I started out with my franken I am calling Bananorama, 2 coats, with Orly's speed dry/deep cure top coat sandwiched. Top coat of speed dry SV.

I used a bit of scotch tape to make sure I painted a straight line down half of my nails. Since the Chrome Green is an instant dry, this went very fast.

Here is the finished look. I used a dotting tool and my Bananorama to make matching accents in the chrome area, then topped with SV speed dry top coat. I totally love this combo!

Bananorama Franken

I just thought I would post a franken of mine (ok, I only have 2 so far lol), but I love it. I have a boatload of different whites from french mani kits. Not sure why I have like 5 of them, but go figure! When I am down and feeling broke, I have always bought polish. By and large, a cheap pick-me-up and it's legal! OK..on to the franken...

I took a China Glaze yellow called Solar Power and a Nailene brand French White (note to self-don't use the French mani bottles...brush is way too skinny). I only used about 1/3  or 1/4 bottle of the yellow and about half the bottle of french white.

And from these 2, I got...
BANANORAMA!! lol Much better IMO, than that yellow CG.

New Favorite mani/combo

Still bored and mostly stuck at home until Friday, so here we are with another mani. Decided Konad stamping was still beyond my left hand's abilities, so I did a scotch tape mani, thanks to http://chloesnails.blogspot.com/ . She has great ideas and tutorials. I did 2 coats of Essie's Lilacism, and the flip color was SH's HD color, Laser. This is awesome stuff...not sure if it is a multichrome or just 2 tones...but I love it. I love the combination, too, it pulls out the purple better in the Sally Hansen polish.
Wish I would have coated all nails heavy---like it better that way. I followed the only patch of sunshine coming in-right next to my dog's curled up body, lol. Can't believe she stayed so still for that!
