It's all about ME

I tried a sponging method I have seen on a few blogs- I may not be remembering the method right but here goes and a silent thank-you to the ladies that have done a tutorial on this!

2 Coats of NYC French mani White, and then the colors I used were:
Catrice Forget Me Not
Essence Choose Me!

I painted the two colors right on the cosmetic sponge and rolled the sponge over the nail-MESSY-But gorgeous!
This was stunning in the sun and out of the sun, actually. A co-worker said she kept looking at my nails because they made her happy-that's a win in my book!

Essence CM showed up more Aqua than in the bottle...it looks like a lovely green in the bottle, but sponged over the white...aqua. I still loved it!
This was messy-no other way to say it-especially with that darker color near the cuticles. I plan on trying scotch tape next time, because the finished look was worth it.
Have a good evening!

First Magnetic Mani

OK, ignore my crappy magnet job and check out the color combination....

2 Coats of Essence Steel Me (in a trade from lovely Buzzwheedle)...in retrospect, I would have done better using a close color for the undies and 1 thicker coat of the magnetic polish.

But here we go...like I said, ignore my lousy magnet work. 1 coat of Pure Ice, Oh Baby over the top...

Some of my nails have such a sharp C-curve that I only got striping across the arches.
 Pink duochrome shimmer...*sigh*

I picked up a China glaze magnet from Sally Beauty Supply, and they work tolerably well, but I still want to play with making my own. 1 coat of Out The Door over the top glossed this mani right up!
I really love how the combination of textures and colors looks....might get me through the wimpy lines, hehehehe! What do you think? I know not everyone like magnetic polishes...but I love the options plus the metallic aspect...love me some metallic polish!

Sinful Colors Cinderella & Spring Glitter Blizzard!

I am so tickled that I found the Sinful Colors Cinderella, because I love it!
At any rate, I thought I would try it over white since it seemed so sheer...

2 coats of SC Cinderella over 1 coat Orly Softest White

This was a restful color to wear...I don't know how else to say it. It glowed and played pink peek-a-boo but it felt heavenly to wear....

After I took that off...and only because it started chipping...I decided on something more rowdy :0)

I want some shiny sun and green growing things, so I decided I needed some shine on my nails...

2 coats of Essence Break Through with 3 different glitter polishes: Spoiled Papa-Paparazzi, Wet N Wild Hallucinate and un-named Sally Girl silver glitter. The first picture of the Essence polish is the most color-accurate---a pink-ish purple and very pretty.

Yikes, Shield your eyes!

It was hard to get the silver glitter to show without glaring or looking black, but see if these pictures work...

Ok, I am done with the spam-fest. I hope your weather is lovely and your friends and family are close. Take care!!

Unicorn nails in a Winter Wonderland (Spam alert!)

OK, there are NO unicorns on my nails, but the color combination reminded me so much of my childhood vision of Unicorns, that the name stuck! Also...a co-worker that I respect said it was very wintry-looking...I happen to think she was right as well :0)

I used my first Zoya favorite, Gaia, 2 coats and heavenly looking.

So pretty all on its own, but then it came to me, it needed some delicate sponging! I sponged with my new Essence Choose Me! I was a bit too heavy on that, so I sponged a bit more Gaia over E-CM

I loved how this looked, but no, it wasn't quite right.....

I sponged over that with Catrice Forget Me Not, Also from Buzzwheedle and put one coat of Sally Girl un-named glitter

*drools*

OK, now for the winter wonderland... We received 8-10 inches officially...but where we live it was closer to 20 inches of snow. Since I wasn't willing to go back OUT in that mess, here is a picture from my porch, LOL!
Fun, huh?! I am so glad we have a 4x4 vehicle! People sliding into other people, onto sidewalks and stuck in the middle of roads....you name it, we saw it! I feel very fortunate at times like this to have a home that is safe and warm. Our state is friendly to transients and homeless and we have a large population of homeless people. I just want to cry when I think of the people that are sleeping in cars or outside at times like this....their choice or not.
Take care and hug your loved ones...furry or not!

Whoo-Hoo! Swap results

I finally received my swap package from Buzzwheedle! She sent awesome and amazing goodies, and it was fun going through looking at the different countries the polishes came from. OK, I'm easy-it doesn't take much to make me happy!

At any rate, I will probably be doing manis with these fun polishes in the next few weeks. I already did my toes...but I will be  merciful and NOT subject you to my winter toes, LOL!
Here are a few pics of my new loot!

The total loot pile...no breakage and it was like my birthday a month early! (Yeeks, I turn 45 next month!)

*Sigh* look at those flakies! I never thought I would have this particular polish...and I didn't realize how many different colors of flakies this has!

This is Essence Choose me! and I totally fell in love with it....this is what is on my funky little piggies.

I had never participated in a swap before and I was so glad that I had. Thank-you Buzzwheedle! I hope to see you blogging again when you find more time :0) *Hugs* to you dear lady!

I had picked up 2 of the Fingerpaints flakies before I received my Netherlands package. The thing is...the Golden Rose Scale Effect is like mixing FP Asylum and Flecked! Hands-down, Golden Rose SE tops the Fingerpaints in my opinion, just because of the range of color to get lost in....

I'm off to eat some of my daughter's homemade bread with some honey...nomnomnom!  Stay safe, hug your loved ones, and paint your nails!
