Dotticure with Pure Ice polishes & giveaway heads-up!

This mostly uses Pure Ice, but the white dots are Sinful Shine. I've seen some great dotticures by friends on Facebook, so this mani is totally inspired by my friend, Things I Love At The Moment! The lovely Pointless Cafe got me well and truly hooked on Pure Ice with her Thrifty Thursdays posts, too!

I am on Instagram now as 6 Harts.... And for those of you that know me, also on Facebook as 6Harts :0)

Lavender growing like crazy in my mother-in-law's garden, and the alpacas below...these boys are soooo curious!

Take care and don't forget to visit pointlesscafe.com to enter her birthday giveaway!! There are 2 6 Harts Polishes and lots of other great prizes!

All Buttoned up! Day 2 of the Tri-Polish Challenge

I have day two of the Tri-Polish Challenge...I was really happy with how this turned out! I got the idea from a picture on Pinterest...the colors on that I think were a turquoise blue and white. I love this version...

The polishes I used for this part of the challenge are A England Elaine and Pure Ice Wild Thing. Elaine is a deep plummy purple, but my camera just doesn't capture the awesomeness of this polish...so beautiful in person...

I started with 2 coats of Elaine and then after that dried...I coated half my accent nails with Wild Thing. For the dots, I used the flat end of a bamboo skewer. I used a smaller object for the purple dots in the center. These reminded me of old-style Victorian boots...the kind with buttons....

Below...Goliath, Mr. Miracle kitty. He's so cute curled up on the couch...except that's MY spot, lol!!

Below..my Nova dog....I rarely get good pictures of her because she is so black!...The sun was coming in and the light was perfect...There ya go: nail and pet spam, lol!!!

Check out the fantastic manis below...they're all pretty darn amazing!

Crumpet's tri-polish Challenge

Yes, I am afraid I finally caved and decided to try a nail challenge...right about 10:00 last night I was thinking it was a big mistake...but after seeing some of these...I have more ideas, lol! The challenge is on this link The Crumpet . Here was my first day:

I used Pure Ice Wild Thing, A England Elaine and Sally Hansen Rouge Red...

It was kind of fun, but truly, I don't know how to properly use a striping brush, lol! My line started out narrow and progressed in thickness....ugh! I've always been a chicken to try one of these challenges, but this is a pretty laid-back thing...I might be able to handle this one! Check out all the other lovely manis below!!

Veterans' Day Mani & Other Fun!

Ok, I have been absent from my blog (guilty as charged...) but trust me...the nails have been polished! I am going to spam you with manis and some new kitten pics.

I have never mentioned this on my blog, but I have one son and he is an Army Veteran and I am immensely proud of him. We are making home made pizzas tomorrow for Veterans' Day for him.
I decided I would do a special mani for the day!

By the way I am just as proud of my three strong daughters also...My mother raised me to be a strong woman and my daughters are all that way as well :0)

OK, on to the mani!

The holographic sparkle is Hits Disco Ball-a $2 sale polish, whoo-hoo!

 Can you see the holo-goodness?

Ok, now KITTY!

Rowan was TIRED!
Now more mani spammi!

Above, Contrary Polish Fire-brand from a scratch & Dent from Llarowe -can you see that amazing purple flash being sneaky on my index finger?....I was a very bad polish fiend in October...

Essie Marshmallow with a Nina Ultra Pro "watered-down" holo topcoat and Sally Girl pink cheap glitter
This was one of my October Breast Cancer Awareness manis-lovely pink glitter bomb

Now, more FUR BABIES!!

Lynderella Love, Part 1

Ahhh, my name finally came up in the llarowe site wishlist process....The day before Mother's Day I got the best nail mail!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get everything on my wishlist because of recent medical stuff (imagine that...no pay when I don't work!), but I DID get 4 lovelies. I told my husband he could call that my mommy's day present and you know what he said? "We'll call it your nursing fee", Hahahhaa!!
What a doll-definitely a keeper when he buys me Lynderellas for sticking by him when he was sick!

Yay!...on to the pretty spam-fest! You've seen these before probably, but these are my first/only Lynderellas.
The first one I used was Gotta Love Brains. I had NO idea it had a purple shimmer! I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes underneath, and 2 coats of GLB:

I didn't plan for those cool, big ass glitters to be right next to each other, lol! But I was not talented enough to pluck the one off and place it elsewhere...

Get a look at that purple/pink shimmer! I love that stuff! This one is so fun and funky and subtle at the same time. Not too crazy for work and this stuff has a great formula, by the way...I was pleasantly suprised!
If you are looking for these-be patient. The wishlist system through llarowe is slow but sure. I put my WL in to Leah Ann in February and would have had every item in April- it took 2 months but worth it. The polish scalpers on e-bay kind of piss me off.....

Random Mani Spam-Fest part 2

Here are some more random mani pictures....Life is still incredibly busy, so nothing truly exceptional here....just enough to keep me sane (well...maybe)

They are listed from the top, newest down to the bottom, from at least a week or so ago...

Ultra subtle stamping over 2 coats of A-England Dragon. I used my Konad special stamping polish....I was either screwed with this purchase or got a bad bottle, because it is VERY sheer for color.

It showed up fairly well in the light box but was almost imperceptible on the nail in real life...ah well....

Pure Ice, Oh Baby over Orly Le Chateau...great combo, but too dark for the gorgeous sunny weather, so it only lasted a day, hahahaha!

2 Coats of  Spectraflair franken I made...so stunning in the sun!! I love a good blue polish....

And finally...Yes, I did wear this (below) at the hospital...it was raining for 2 days straight and I NEEDED sunshine!!
2 coats of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow , with Finger Paints Asylum over the top....I love flakies over bright yellow!
Take care and enjoy the spring weather if you have it in your area!

First Magnetic Mani

OK, ignore my crappy magnet job and check out the color combination....

2 Coats of Essence Steel Me (in a trade from lovely Buzzwheedle)...in retrospect, I would have done better using a close color for the undies and 1 thicker coat of the magnetic polish.

But here we go...like I said, ignore my lousy magnet work. 1 coat of Pure Ice, Oh Baby over the top...

Some of my nails have such a sharp C-curve that I only got striping across the arches.
 Pink duochrome shimmer...*sigh*

I picked up a China glaze magnet from Sally Beauty Supply, and they work tolerably well, but I still want to play with making my own. 1 coat of Out The Door over the top glossed this mani right up!
I really love how the combination of textures and colors looks....might get me through the wimpy lines, hehehehe! What do you think? I know not everyone like magnetic polishes...but I love the options plus the metallic aspect...love me some metallic polish!

Oh, Baby! (spam alert)

I found Pure Ice Oh Baby at Walmart purely by chance and I loved it on sigh...reminded me of Pure Ice Busted and Pure Ice Heartbreaker. All 3 are lovely, sparkly layering topcoats.

I layered this lovely polish over Catrice New York (thank-you for this polish, Buzzwheedle!).

2 coats of CNY
Egh...dry fingers...obviously no moisturizers...

One coat of Pure Ice Oh, Baby

Under the Ott light, above...Below...trying to catch that elusive pink sparkle..but wow, even in low light it sparkles amazingly...

YAY! I caught the pink! lookie....

Click on these and check out the close-up

Here is the bottle shot...this polish is so amazing!

Funky Half-Moon Mani

I have never tried a half-moon mani-simply because 1) I stink at drawing neat lines and 2) They are not my favorite style (probably because I can't DO them!)

BUT...I came by sort of a half-moon by accident. I used scotch tape and fancy scissors and Viola! I had always wondered if I could figure out how to do the half-moon with scissors and tape and now I know, lol!

Two coats of Sally Hansen Complete manicure Thinking of Blue-one of my post-holiday hauls.

Woops, didn't take a picture of that color on its own...but you can see it clearly-lovely dark blue cream.
I used these scissors to make the shape

I had actually planned turning the pattern to follow my cuticle line, but I screwed that up and had to run with it :0)

I used Pure Ice Heartbreaker for the offset color, and went by after and made little dots below the ^ shape.

I found it hard to see the shape of the ^ after I added Poshe quick dry topcoat :0)
That is probably as fashionable as I will ever get with my nails, lol. I probably will  never try a ruffian-damn those look tricky!
I think our area ended up with a bit over 24 inches of snow, but since it rained on top of the snow (!?) right after, it was hard to be positive.

Right now, I plan to return to my warm butterscotch-chip cookie and ice-cold milk....I love cold milk....
Good Night!!

Glitter Blizzard! and some other fun

This mani was totally inspired by Anita at splashofserendipity.blogspot.com. She does some amazing nail work and has gorgeous nails to boot, hahaha! Thank-you for the fabulous idea, Anita!

Started this late at night and needed a simple, quick but pretty mani, since I have a reputation to keep up at work! But first you get to see some nail porn...NAKED NAILS! The staining finally grew out and they look pretty darn good to me...
My nails are translucent in some places, because I had been working in the kitchen, cooking and doing dishes, so afterwards I slathered them with argan oil and let it soak in...
Ok, on to the easy-peasy mani:

On clear gel nails, I sponged NYC french mani white starting at the tips and making a gradient...
Over the top of that, one coat of Wet N Wild Hallucinate. Over the top of that, one coat of Pure Ice Heartbreaker. Sorry for the blurry pictures, but I was trying to get the PI polish to show up like it does in real life...

OK, I really like how simple and effective this look is. The green and blue flashes were much more noticeable in person. Gorgeous and a bit flashy without being TOO flashy...I know...not like me right?!
On to some craft/homemade fun!
My compromise to actually giving away my Christmas ideas if the kids look at this post, is...

Experiment number one.......

Hmmm, not dark enough and a bit too soft, back to the drawing board for more Brown Iron Oxide and a bit more beeswax.... E-mail me if you need help or want to know what these are going to be hahaha!
