Random Bits of Insanity....

WOW, has it really been so long...it has! I have done lots of manis...haven't posted them, but here are several to either like or not! Mouhahahahaaa! After, an update on other things if you are interested...

Brown franken of mine...holo brown, yummmm...

WOW, this one is an old one! I can't remember the colors I used but the gorgeous sparkly one was a gift from my lovely friend Saundie...my partner in polish addiction, that is, lol!

Below...*sigh* I LOVE A England's Elaine....and I love Lynderella's Change. Are you drooling yet?

Really? Help you with the rusty truck brakes right after I started my nails?! Yes, I did indeed help and only had to re-do one nail, hahahahaha, I am that good!
I made this franken after seeing some similar ones online and seeing ABOP's white franken-decided I had to have my own. I am totally groovin on this white jelly w/glitter look!

Catherine Arley-have no idea of the name, it was a swap gift from Lovely Buzzwheedle!
This was my first attempt at decals, and I totally muffed it, they only stayed on 1 day and then just popped off-topcoat and all. Let me know if you can actually tell what the pictures are, hahahahaa...not my best work, but fun! My hubby thought it was cool-score!

OK, update time...I have polishes and jewelry up on etsy---fun!

Other news-husband is doing well-but heart has not recovered as much as we hoped after his surgery in April. That is OK, though-he feels SO much better and it will take time. He is back to working and just had a defibrillator surgically put in and was home from the hospital after less than 24 hours. If you ever want information on this bizarre/fun topic of heart health...just e-mail me. If I could stand for more than an hour comfortably, I would have gone to nursing school :0) Medical stuff has always been fascinating to me and I did go into a medically-related field in college.

Thanks for sticking with me when I haven't posted much, and reading my craziness...I shall post again sooner! No more teens in the home, so I get my computer back, YAY!

Random Mani Spam-fest

I really am here....

OK, so my blog has been a bit neglected while life moves on and summer has finally arrived. Camping season is here (yes, I love to camp!), but since sleeping on the ground is no longer something my husband can do, I splurged and found a used tiny camper for us. And I am loving it, Mouahahahha! No more fighting the rain, I can cook inside and sleep dry! And yes, my nails are the prettiest in the mountains!

OK, on to the Manis!
(btw, I am not touching any of the Lynderella issues floating out there-I love her polishes, and I will post my pretties!)

Lynderella Change over NYC Tangerine cream (YUMMY!). The gradient wasn't very even, but it was still lovely...this is going on my toes next!
This is where we have been spending our weekends-Outside, getting our feet wet hiking!

My Nova (she loves her sticks!)

Crappy picture of me looking fat-ugh...but at least the waterfall is gorgeous!

Wet feet...had to take a picture!

~Break over~More Lynderella...

Essie Lilacism (damn bubbles...)
Gradient using (woops, can't remember) I THINK  LA Colors gray/silver (sorry!)

Mercurial over the top-Stunning, I thought! Very distracting in the sun!
My franken, Cinnamon Glow! Have a few bottles of this up in my Etsy store (6HartsCraftCompany)

This one is yummy-kind of reminds me of cinnamon rolls and cinnamon toast.....Darn it, now I made myself hungry-off to the kitchen to make some toast!

A England Elaine and Flakies!

I broke down and bought some A-England polishes after my friend Saundie raved over the formula. Nothing spoke to me quite like Elaine, though. I adore a purple creme and Elaine is an amazing purple.
I did get A-England's Dragon, too *drool*  (it whispered...loudly).

Here it is-Inside under Ott lights.
Two lovely coats of A-E Elaine..one was close, but I had some cuticle drag at one coat, so I used two.
Outside, above and below-SUNSHINE! This was out on our deck and probably the most color-accurate pictures. Two coats of Finger Paints Asylum on accent fingers.

This picture is just an extra, hahahahaa! I swatched my A-Englands as soon as I got them in the mail :0)
From Left to right... Elaine, Dragon and a franken of mine I hadn't tried on my nails yet.

I bought my A-Englands on http://shop.llarowe.com/ and they got to me in terrific shape and FAST! I love shopping on her site-shipping is affordable and it gets to me quickly-however, my bank account does not love it, hahahaha.

Butterfly Nirvana

Hope everyone had a fun and safe St.Patrick's Day if you celebrated! I'm not much of a party-er and stayed home and relaxed with family.

This mani evolved while I worked on it...I initially planned on stamping a chrome black right over Sinful Colors Nirvana, but I saw an untried and got maybe a bit carried away, hehehehe...
2 coats of SC Nirvana-love this color...

Combined lighting from Ott light and fluorescent light bulb, above.

Just a tiny little Ott light I found-makes me look pale but maybe the most color-accurate picture.

Now with the untried...Sally Hansen Glass Slipper-ooh are those white Flakies I see?? Yup, I think they are. My friend Saundie bought this and was telling me how pretty it was. I had seen it, but didn't realize what it would look like on the nail...awesome polish imo.
Above, with no topcoat...a little bumpy

Ooooh, you can see them better in this picture...tiny little flakie goodness in my eyes :0)

OK, it looks better from a distance, I know...close up the color accents on the butterflies are a bit wonky, but I still love them. This may be one of those times when I should have stopped while I was ahead, but I wanted a tiny bit more color on this mani. Nirvana is such a cool/odd color to put other colors with, I am not very confident in my color pairings with this one.

Here is a pic of the Sally Hansen Glass Slippers-looks like a plain Jane glitter polish to me!

New Franken: Leprechaun Toes

I was playing around with some frankens...feeling sad about TKB's ordering situation, and I came up with 3 frankens...2 were keepers, one was a bit "iffy".

The one for today's mani I think I will call "Leprechaun Toes". I really wanted a sparkly, flashy green for St. Patrick's Day.

3 coats of LT (hehehehe) with not nearly enough topcoat!

I really like how this one turned out...OK on its own and would also look awesome over black or a dark green or even silver/grey, I think...

There is actually black hex glitter in this, but none came out on my nails....

So you can probably guess on the one I goofed up, lol.... I miscalculated the amount of shimmer the pigment would add, and over did things just a wee bit.  The far left franken is inspired by Lynderella's Change...I love that polish and don't think Iwill ever be able to get that one, so I made something I could pretend was Change, hehehehe. The middle one is my Leprechaun Toes and the coppery mess on the right may have to go....
OH, and thanks to MK at http://polishandpigments.blogspot.com for her site that has helped me with glitter issues! (And ABOP that pointed me there!!)

On the flip side of things, I am trying to set up an Etsy shop with some of my craft items! This seems to be making my husband happy...wonder if he thinks it will fund my craft addictions?!

Mouhahahaha! As IF!

Chocolate Crocodiles!! + some furballs

Oh, wow...this was not my favorite stamp to start with, but it is growing on me like...never mind, can't think of anything not gross lol!

At any rate, our local Walgreen's was having a sale on Sinful Colors polish...why? NO clue! This stuff is normally $1.99 a bottle, and the sale made it $0.99/bottle...yeah, I had to restrain my spending urges, cause I was feeling down....So I only bought 3 bottles, Mouhahahahha!
Even worse, then I saw Sally Beauty Supply was still open-Woot!? Bopped in there and they had a 'buy a Poshe TC, get the cuticle treatment for free'-Man they pushed all my cheap buttons!!Since my cuticles have been growing their own hair, it was a no-brainer :0)
OK, I bought one polish for me and 2 for a swap I am working on. I kept Sinful Colors Nirvana...YUM....

3 coats with top coat, but only to dry it faster....chocolaty goodness like this gets marred too quickly!
2 coats would have been enough...but I had some blips to cover.

Stamped with Sally Hansen Chrome nail polish and BM 224 I think....
Not snakeskin, but definitely reptilian...I finally decided it reminded me of crocodile skin...I can live with this, snakes might take longer....
Not the best stamping. not the best pictures-and it looks WAY better in person. As I looked at my gnarly fingers all day, I decided that it was fairly work-appropriate-the color, that is. Most workplaces probably wouldn't like the stamp...but it was perfect at my work. So as I said...it grew on me.

On to the furballs! First, I love my pets. Almost as much as I love my kids and they have complained about this many times. We have 2 cats, 1 dog and 1 ferret...oh and I can't forget 1 lone gerbil that we somehow inherited from my oldest daughter. All are rescues-or have rescued me. My cat, Goliath falls into the second category-he rescued us, when my first dog was very sick and old....He had been abandoned by his previous owners and it took my daughter 2 weeks to catch his wily butt.
Who could NOT love a 15 pound noisy furball that looks like this? He is my big, mean and protective baby. He and his fellow kitty, Dove have stayed with us :0)
Nova (Latin for "new") was at a pet shelter and I know she was abused to some degree...but she is happy now and is my sweet pup.
Ya, I know, she wants another doggie treat, lol

Take care, everyone...I will be gone for a week starting this weekend...family reunion...But I promise I will be back!

Franken Funfest! and Gel polish update

I finally received my low-budget order from TKB trading....bottles, color/sampler tray and clear bases. That was all I felt like I could get this time, but my wish list was much bigger, lol!

Now the fun started! ....I had already made hmm, 3 ? frankens and needed more bottles...I was going into franken detox! I blew through 6 of the new bottles like nobody's business. Here are 2 of the new polishes, I did give a little peek of the green one on a previous post.

This is the bright green I made for my daughter. Middle finger has 2 coats, that seems to give the best effect. Since my nails don't curve downwards, no full holo effect, but still pretty!
This brown franken was made with the color-morphing pigment.

Full sun and I was AMAZED! This was the color-morphing pigment, green-gold. I only saw the green inside, but outside-gold... W O W ! I'm thinking this one needs to be Named. Molten Chocolate. How's that sound? Yummy? IT IS!!!!

Click on the pictures of the polish in full sun to see some of the gold. Pesky color was playing hide-and-go-seek with my camera.

Inside, artificial light, you can see the green a bit better. I can see I am going to have to find the funds to make another order for polish bottles and bases.

Regarding gellac under regular polishes....
I put on gellac and some sheer pink gellish polish last Thursday night, have changed my polish 2 times since then, using non-acetone polish remover. Even though the gel polish has lost some of its beautiful shine, it's holding tough and has still protected my nails amazingly well! Also, I think it gives a lovely smooth finish under the polish. I am going to hang tight and see how long I can keep this one application going before it shows or starts cracking/flaking.

More frankens in my next post! Take care and *don't sniff the fumes!*
