3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have...drool!

OK, since I make my own polishes, I like to try others to see how mine stacks up against them...plus, some are just stunning!

Dollish Polish - 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have is a really DENSE glitter polish with a clear base. I wanted to be able to wear it over colors and see plenty of color...so I took my glitter suspension base and made a tiny bottle of a less glittery version. I was so glad I did! I can see all the lovely bits better!

Below, 2 coats of Midnight Mystery from a Ross Dress For Less polish pack. These are fabulous little polishes and I wish I could grab bigger versions of them...really going to miss a few. This is a great one...and it did NOT stain!

Ahhh, there is that pic! Believe Beauty brand! The collection looks LESS blue in real life, if that makes sense. Midnight Mystery is in the lower row next to the black...it's much deeper and darker IRL.

That little beige-y one is another fave, lol!

Ok, now for the slightly watered down indie... 1coat...

I adored this combo....muted but flashy, if that can happen, lol!

Below, you can see some mini-bar glitter that is silver holo. I would never have seen these. WHERE did she find those?? I don't like bar glitters, but the short ones are awesome! This was a hard one to remove...really-2 days is pushing it for me and I think I wore this one like 4-5 days... The only thing I need "get over" is my feeling that this needs to be worn with a blue or green because of the tiny turquoise blue glitters... (aren't they cute, though?!)

OK, all done-Awesome indie polish, but a little too dense for my fingernails...but I am wearing it on my toes over a turquoise frosty polish! My husband liked that one....but VERY flashy, especially over a frost.

Take care, enjoy your weather. Here, we went from 80F to SNOW overnight (like 2 inches!)...no kidding....but Fall is finally here and the cold has clamped down on the forest fires and the smoke is gone, YAY!

Miscellaneous Manis-the Good & the Bad!

Well, I got a bit behind on things again-lots of forest fires in our state/nearby states and the smoky air seems to be taking its toll on my energy...Blegh!

So I will barrage you with some of my recent Yuks and Yays...
First is bad...very bad, but I couldn't put my finger on any one thing---it was everything, hahahaa!

Started out great, Loving this cool neutral! Should have left "well enough" alone...

OK, Bad move...stamping sucked and then I wanted to try out a new polish of mine over this stamping...just yuk! It stayed on for a full day-that was all I could take of this combo!

OK, Next one...Operator Error, not the polish's fault. Lovely Contrary Polish, Purple Smoke. STUNNING polish, actually...

Lovely shimmers, Grurple came to mind, because it is grey, blue and purple all at once, but my application sucked and I rushed things-bubbles from too thick of coats. I will try 3 very thin coats next time-this was 2 thick layers. Even though my application stunk, I didn't want to remove this one...lovely...

Girly Bits Cu Blue-O MY this makes me literally drool...I'm not a fan of Jellies, but this color  talked to me (screamed, actually) so I bought it. copper sparkles peek out of a yummy deep blue. This is 2 coats and I really could care less that I have VNL. On my accent finernail is Finger Paints Fall of Surprises and was was too intense/dense, but I had not tried this one before, so maybe I am forgiven?
This pic below was the best I have taken in a long time..in the car, after work, hahahah! Are you drooling?
I bought Girly Bits Cu Blue and Contrary Polish Purple Smoke from Llarowe.
This next one was fun...but a pain to remove...but sooo fun and pretty!
2 coats of NYC french mani white, 1 coats of Pretty & Polished Sand Art, 3 (yes, 3!) coats of SV....
You might not be able to tell....I am still playing around with my next, new polish(accent finger)--testing and trying to decide if I need to tweak it before I make enough to bottle and sell...
(Can you see the shimmer on my accent/ring finger?)

Let me know what you think of these- I love some of the indies and I love trying my own brand and comparing them to what is out there...There are some very talented people out there making polish right now, but do your research, a friend of mine has had some bad experiences with indies-not many, but some....
*hugs* take care all-enjoy your weather and clean air if you have it!!

Blued and Tattooed

I have a phrase I use that describes when something really bad happens (engine blows on your car when you are in the middle of Nowhere) might be an old phrase (probably is) but it goes like this, "...I am screwed, blued and tattooed" So that is where this post title comes from-weird, I know, but that is just me!

No bad news for me or my family-just describes these manis :0)
If you can guess, I finally figured out the tattoo stuff and basically, I have given up on making my own fingernail decals unless I can find a better product to print on.

Here we go-
2 coats of NYC french mani white, and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella-gorgeous!

SC Cinderella over white makes my heart happy....it is just the effect it has on me!

The only place I found tattoos at WalMart was in the "party" supplies aisle and these were in a pack for party favors, wow! There were 4 different sheets of designs in the package and I was pretty happy to finally try this. SO easy!  I didn't do it like some of the tutorials I have seen, I just very carefully cut out the ones I wanted, laid the paper design-side down on my dry nail and dabbed them carefully with a damp rag. They slid right onto my nail-Like Butter! SV over the top and GO!

AND, on to another blue mani...

New polish I found the same time I found the tattoos, Maybelline Color Show-Denims it must be part of a "Denims Collection" because it had a separate color on top-I just can't remember at the mo.

I really loved this color/polish but it dried almost too quickly. One coat almost did the trick. Accent finger done in Pure Ice Jaguar and stamped (yes, I did!) with the same blue polish that is on on the other fingers. YAY for finding a new stamping polish! That little glass fleck effect in MCS Denims did not hamper the stamping at all....

Quite a few compliments on this second mani, including some from guys.
I really do get a kick out of it when guys like my nails-and when they are confident enough to comment on them. I take that as a high compliment, even though hubby thinks guys are flirting when this happens, hahahaha!

Random Mani Spam-fest

I really am here....

OK, so my blog has been a bit neglected while life moves on and summer has finally arrived. Camping season is here (yes, I love to camp!), but since sleeping on the ground is no longer something my husband can do, I splurged and found a used tiny camper for us. And I am loving it, Mouahahahha! No more fighting the rain, I can cook inside and sleep dry! And yes, my nails are the prettiest in the mountains!

OK, on to the Manis!
(btw, I am not touching any of the Lynderella issues floating out there-I love her polishes, and I will post my pretties!)

Lynderella Change over NYC Tangerine cream (YUMMY!). The gradient wasn't very even, but it was still lovely...this is going on my toes next!
This is where we have been spending our weekends-Outside, getting our feet wet hiking!

My Nova (she loves her sticks!)

Crappy picture of me looking fat-ugh...but at least the waterfall is gorgeous!

Wet feet...had to take a picture!

~Break over~More Lynderella...

Essie Lilacism (damn bubbles...)
Gradient using (woops, can't remember) I THINK  LA Colors gray/silver (sorry!)

Mercurial over the top-Stunning, I thought! Very distracting in the sun!
My franken, Cinnamon Glow! Have a few bottles of this up in my Etsy store (6HartsCraftCompany)

This one is yummy-kind of reminds me of cinnamon rolls and cinnamon toast.....Darn it, now I made myself hungry-off to the kitchen to make some toast!

Lynderella Love, Part 1

Ahhh, my name finally came up in the llarowe site wishlist process....The day before Mother's Day I got the best nail mail!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get everything on my wishlist because of recent medical stuff (imagine that...no pay when I don't work!), but I DID get 4 lovelies. I told my husband he could call that my mommy's day present and you know what he said? "We'll call it your nursing fee", Hahahhaa!!
What a doll-definitely a keeper when he buys me Lynderellas for sticking by him when he was sick!

Yay!...on to the pretty spam-fest! You've seen these before probably, but these are my first/only Lynderellas.
The first one I used was Gotta Love Brains. I had NO idea it had a purple shimmer! I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes underneath, and 2 coats of GLB:

I didn't plan for those cool, big ass glitters to be right next to each other, lol! But I was not talented enough to pluck the one off and place it elsewhere...

Get a look at that purple/pink shimmer! I love that stuff! This one is so fun and funky and subtle at the same time. Not too crazy for work and this stuff has a great formula, by the way...I was pleasantly suprised!
If you are looking for these-be patient. The wishlist system through llarowe is slow but sure. I put my WL in to Leah Ann in February and would have had every item in April- it took 2 months but worth it. The polish scalpers on e-bay kind of piss me off.....

Brocade Mani (spam alert!)

Hmmm, this mani was inspired by ABOP's post here.... I don't have any deep dark pinks...so I winged it, so to speak :0) The end result of this experiment is shown in all of its hot glory below, hahahaha!
I started with a nail polish brand that I know nothing about-you will see the bottle. I picked up the set at Ross and the base color is Hibiscus!

The colors aren't "true" in the above picture... but close.

Above...under an Ott light. Below in the light box...

2 coats of Hibiscus...somewhere between red-garnet in my mind, but it is lovely and the formula was surprisingly nice. 1st coat was streaky 2nd was heaven...

The next addition was Essie Shine of the Times...Wow, the flakies are dense in this stuff!

Almost left it like this...but I really wanted to try ABOP's look....so I was brave....

I used one of the newer Bundle Monster plates and Sally Hansen Cinnamon Chrome (not 100% positive on the color name)
I started with a cool color, warm flakies in between, and stamped with a cool color again. I think it is a success but it bugs my OCD gene just enough that I am not sure if I'm crazy or not on this one...

It reminds me of rich, red brocade fabric. The stamping over the top give it a lot of texture and the shifting flakies add to that even more. I found these pictures online...

What do you think, success or not?! Let me know what you think!

Anniversary Mani & a Possible Hiatus

This might be my last post for a few weeks, I just don't know. My husband and I just celebrated our 28th Anniversary and then got some rough medical news right after that.
Suffice it to say that if a loved one suddenly develops swollen feet & legs and problems coughing and breathing, especially at night...Get them to a Doctor as fast as you can drag them. Open heart surgery in a few days and hopefully many more anniversaries to come....

So here is my anniversary mani, before life got knocked wonky.

One coat of Revlon Silver Dollar-should have done 2 but you can't see the bare spots through that bling

Stamped using Sally Hansen Chrome Purple Diamond I think....can't remember shit right now (CRS)
Hang tight, take care of your health, and hug your loved ones.  Over the next few weeks, I will try not to drop the F-bomb or be cranky in posts...but there is a possibility...so I will warn you ahead of time.
