Random Mani Spam-Fest part 2

Here are some more random mani pictures....Life is still incredibly busy, so nothing truly exceptional here....just enough to keep me sane (well...maybe)

They are listed from the top, newest down to the bottom, from at least a week or so ago...

Ultra subtle stamping over 2 coats of A-England Dragon. I used my Konad special stamping polish....I was either screwed with this purchase or got a bad bottle, because it is VERY sheer for color.

It showed up fairly well in the light box but was almost imperceptible on the nail in real life...ah well....

Pure Ice, Oh Baby over Orly Le Chateau...great combo, but too dark for the gorgeous sunny weather, so it only lasted a day, hahahaha!

2 Coats of  Spectraflair franken I made...so stunning in the sun!! I love a good blue polish....

And finally...Yes, I did wear this (below) at the hospital...it was raining for 2 days straight and I NEEDED sunshine!!
2 coats of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow , with Finger Paints Asylum over the top....I love flakies over bright yellow!
Take care and enjoy the spring weather if you have it in your area!

A England Elaine and Flakies!

I broke down and bought some A-England polishes after my friend Saundie raved over the formula. Nothing spoke to me quite like Elaine, though. I adore a purple creme and Elaine is an amazing purple.
I did get A-England's Dragon, too *drool*  (it whispered...loudly).

Here it is-Inside under Ott lights.
Two lovely coats of A-E Elaine..one was close, but I had some cuticle drag at one coat, so I used two.
Outside, above and below-SUNSHINE! This was out on our deck and probably the most color-accurate pictures. Two coats of Finger Paints Asylum on accent fingers.

This picture is just an extra, hahahahaa! I swatched my A-Englands as soon as I got them in the mail :0)
From Left to right... Elaine, Dragon and a franken of mine I hadn't tried on my nails yet.

I bought my A-Englands on http://shop.llarowe.com/ and they got to me in terrific shape and FAST! I love shopping on her site-shipping is affordable and it gets to me quickly-however, my bank account does not love it, hahahaha.

Pimp My Mani!! oh, and some gift /craft pics

I topped my last mani with some Franken holo topcoat that I made with spectraflair and suspension base clear polish. So, yea I made it even flashier, lol!
I have a new mani, but I thought I would do the holo re-do first, my new mani and then some gift/craft pictures.

Oooooo, all you holo lovers out there should be drooling right now, lol!! (Neelai, that is you!)
Ok, enough of that, on to tonight's mani!

Orly Ingenue, 2 coats and O My, Blingy!

Wow, I can almost see green, gold, and who knows what other colors flashing in this. I love this polish. It didn't take very long to dry, went on thinly and easily-a bit easy to pool if I put on to much, but easily corrected.
OK, next....
Craft stuff- I took lots of pictures, but I am only posting a few right now, and I will post more after the holiday if anyone is interested in how I did the boxes.

I took an Altoids candy tin and covered it with some upholstery-grade leather I bought off eBay. Remnants like this are fairly cheap, and many pieces were quite large. I glued the leather on with a specific glue that dries flexible and works with leather and metal. I wanted to make these for my girls to put tampons and pads in, because I don't know about other ladies, but I hate having these items floating around and most containers/bags are dead a giveaway when you pull them out of your purse or pocket.

This is one of the finished boxes. I planned on it being "simpler" but I had to hide some of the edges that were bugging me...so it got a bit fancier, hahahaha! The little knot on the lid is to open it.

Here are some nail polish frankens I also have made for presents for my girls...

Ok, enough pictures for tonight. I hope this gave you some ideas or that you at least enjoyed looking at the pictures. Take care and if you celebrate Christmas or similar holiday, enjoy, if you don't, take care anyway and enjoy your week!!

My first Christmas mani

I finally broke down, put away some of my un-Christmas-y polishes... and did something that makes me feel the season a bit.

I got this idea from http://morenailpolish.blogspot.com  when she pulled out her red holo nail polish...her mani was MUCH cooler!!! She reminded me that I had made a red spectraflair franken, so here we go!

Two coats of my super easy Red holo franken (this stuff dries really fast with spectraflair in it) and stamping with Konad m5, using NYC french mani white.

This would definitely look better with a downward slope on my nails, but I have what I have.....funky nails! This is with SV as a topcoat.

I started out stamping with the star on one of the Bundlemonster plates, but the corners of the star would not lift with the stamp...so I switched to my konad plate and I had lift-off! YAY!

I love how this turned out, so glossy and glowy...and I didn't see any smears, so life is good...
Gift/craft stuff.....I have made a few leather-covered altoid boxes for tampon/pad  holders, some big gummi bear soaps, even with cherry scent!
Small leather id holders are next.....

Sinfully Green Holo Franken

I am back from a short vacation with family and now I need a vacation to rest up!
Hahaha-just joking a little :0)
Here is a polish I frankened from Sinful Colors Last Chance, some black and some spectraflair yummy!

2 coats with no gel polish as "underwear" this week:

And another quick picture of where I spent my vacation in Colorado....beautiful area, about 10,000 ft above sea level and pretty darn cold at night!

Once I get caught up from being gone from my family for a week, I will be back at the nail art/craft table :0) I just hated to cover up this lovely holo with ANYTHING!
Take care, and a Hello and Welcome to the new followers -Happy to see new names!

Pink Mani for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I mentioned previously that I wanted to alternate between Halloween and Pink manis this month...so here is another pink mani with a franken I made.

I used an old (5-6 years old, maybe )Mary Kay nail polish called Pink Starshine and Spectraflair. Simple as that. The MK polish had this awesome gold look to it, but was ultra sheer and kind of disappointing actually ON my nails....so it has sat and been ignored. In comes the Spectraflair...awesome addition to this polish, in my opinion. Check out the holo-golden-pink goodness!

Man, this color makes me happy...pink and all. I was actually 90% done with a white holo with pink ribbons...but I was so frustrated and disappointed by it...I wiped the whole thing off, LOL. Has anyone else done that? GAHHH, so frustrating! I do believe I am giving up on ribbons! They turn out awesome on a flat surface, but stink on my fingers, so Hello Acetone!

Tell me about any special manis you are doing this month...Halloween  or otherwise!

"Zombie Lovin" Halloween Franken-pic heavy

I had the best of intentions making this franken, Really! I wanted a franken that kind of reminded me of Glitter Gal's Lizard Belly, but not holo, maybe some glitter and texture. What I got was a gory mess that could only be named aptly, "Zombie Lovin ".  I tell you what, though, it grows on me as I wear it, LOL! I started with a dark green and added color-morphing pigment and gold-ish glitter. The color morph is red to green, hence the zombie effect...

At any rate, it is truly a Halloween-style polish and perfect for decorating with red blood drops and anything else nasty lol...
I was out of town for work at a training when I tried this out, so bear with the mess/weird lighting. See the red? 2 zombies, havin some fun, lol! This is 2 coats with SV as a top coat.

Now here is the COOL green flash....so bright!
Here are some other frankens I made with Spectraflair last night for some friends, but it will be really tough to give these away!

I love how rich and dark this one turned out! This is 2 coats.

This blue holo made me happy and cheerful to no end! I love my blues and this is made from Pure Ice French Kiss  which is a truly awesome polish. This franken is a 1-coater! Woo-hoo!
Well, I have to go....cool, rainy and dreary today and I am going to make some homemade bread and stew...yummmm. Take care!

(Anyone else having problems with certain letters disappearing in Blogspot? I had to change the font for my Z in the first paragraph for it to show on my post...weird!)

October Pink Ribbon Mani

OK, this month I wanted to alternate between Halloween themes and October Breast Cancer Awareness manis......Pink...which is just about my least favorite color. Since I know several people affected by breast cancer and it runs in my family, it is a topic near and dear to me.

Unfortunately, this one counts as a Fail in my book. I think I rushed the crucial "what the h--- am I going to do?" phase...big hairy no-no, lol!

At any rate, you get to see it, because for this, the thought counts, even though my rendition sucks....

2 coats of OPI's I Think In Pink-super sheer impulse buy that I need to franken with some white...

I sponged on some white spectraflair franken, some SH Twisted Pink, and the ribbons are also done with that color. I sponged on Revlon Silver Dollar after the fact...*thwacks self on head*...I just missed my bling, lol!

 (sorry about the poor pics)

The nails with NO ribbon look pretty good, the ribbon part was the fail. Ah, well....if anyone has ideas on making a better/more precise ribbon, give me a yell!
*Oh, and still loving the gel nail polish as underwear...

Halloween Freckles Franken

OK, I know I could have called this funky color HOLOween Freckles, but I couldn't bring myself to do it....just a bit over the top :0)
I made this franken with some OLD Nina Ultra Pro orange frost polish, that yuks me out....Not sure why I ever bought it, but there ya go....addicted, lol.
If you look close, you may be able to see what I put in this mess...Spectraflair, rust glitter and black glitter! (hence the freckles).
2 coats as a base with minimal stamping to show off the polish :0)

2 coats, no topcoat...a bit gritty, but not bad.

2 coats, with SV as a topcoat....Like shiny, sparkly glowworms on my fingers!

OK...with bats, since I was feeling somewhat Batty today :0) SV over the stamping. This is from one of the new Bundlemonster plates, and I plan to make the most of the Halloween stamps :0)
I love this color as much as I hated the original Nina Ultra Pro Burnt Orange...the rust/copper glitter is hard to catch, but I like the fact that these are things you don't often see in the same polish: holo, glitter, black speckles and some metallic polish in there for good measure-it's a keeper.
Take care-stay dry and warm...rainy and cold here.

New Franken Fun!!!

When Morenailpolish was selling the color-morphing pigments and some other goodies, I put an order in and patiently waited for my goodies to arrive (she had a HUGE response!). And arrive they did, this week!! Woo-hoo!
Man alive, I can't wait until my empty bottles come in so I can play more! Here is a little picture of my pigments and little tiny sample of one polish I made last night for my youngest daughter...I don't have a name for it yet...maybe I need some help?!

If I didn't think the Copyright police would find me...I would name it after Kermit, since I love the Muppets, but ah, well!!

I also made a very cool teal franken with color-morphing pigments and a purply-maroon holo-franken my friend Saundie is trying out. More pictures in another day or two, hopefully!! If I can pry my teenager away from World Of Warcraft (WOW) hahahahaa!

Oh, and if you are looking at the pigments and drooling, go check out morenailpolish.blogspot.com, because I think she has more now! She did an awesome job of labeling, weighing, shipping and just putting up with more insanity than I would have-in order to fill people's orders.
